Marcelle was such a sweet, sweet soul. I always loved when she came in to get her hair done. She gave the best hugs and had the best laugh! 
My deepest sympathy to her family and all those who loved her. I am glad she is at peace now.

Marcelle was a blessing to Horne Memorial UMC.  Her hugs were her ministry to members of the church. She seemed to know when someone needed a hug as an sign of God's love for them.  She will be missed but I'm sure God welcomed her with a hug.

Miss Marcelle was truly  a child of God.  She always had a smile and kiss for you wherever she happened to be.  If you were new to Horne Memorial UMC, as my family was in 1988, she was the first person to greet you upon your arrival  at church, as well as outside of church.  She was a remarkable and talented lady and will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.  Rest in peace Marcelle, you are now well and ready to meet with old friends who have gone before you.  We love you.

You live an amazing life. This picture is how I imagine you are doing now. Grandma, you are finally home and pain free. Until we see each other again.

She was one of the nicest people I have ever met with a smile on her face and love in her heart.

She was my husband unofficial grandmother. There may not have been any blood ties, but their bond was clear.

The Bible describes Jesus as the model of humility. Marcelle lived a life of humility. 
Marcelle loved living life on earth. She loved visiting and going places with family and friends. Her birth family was so dear to her, and they all loved and cared for each other so well…and laughed together. Oh! Marcelle’s signature laugh!! Marcelle’s Horne Memorial church family was her rock and support. 
And God used Marcelle in our lives in ways we may not even be aware. Because Marcelle lived “in the world” but not “of the world”, God, through His Spirit, gave her a keen sense of discernment that shaped her prayer life for others. He loved, encouraged, and challenged us through Marcelle’s hugs, words of encouragement, and messages that contained Godly wisdom and challenge. 
Wherever she was, Marcelle was a bright light in this world. For many many years, she patiently and peacefully and thankfully and joyfully lived a large life, until God had accomplished all of His earthly plans for her life.  And now, Marcelle can joyfully attest to us that “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him.” 1 Corinthians 2:9.
It’s because of Him that we know and can show love.

Oh the memories of this sweet soul.  She was always a ray of sunshine, regardless of her circumstances.   Thank you to all that watched over her over the years.
