Ann Marie Kendrigan’s laughter, love, and warmth touched everyone who knew her. She was born on November 10, 1946, in Lowell, Massachusetts, and graduated from Lowell High School in 1964. She later earned an Associate’s Degree and went on to work as an Executive Administrator for many years before retiring, demonstrating a lifelong dedication and strong work ethic.
She passed away peacefully on January 4, 2026, in Clayton, North Carolina, surrounded by her loving family.
Ann was a devoted daughter, loving wife, cherished mother, proud grandmother (i.e.”Mimi”) and adored great grandmother. She found her greatest joy in spending time with her family. Ann was a “hands-on” mother and grandmother who was deeply involved in and devoted to her grandchildren, celebrating every success and supporting them in all they pursued.
She recently became a first-time great-grandmother to Brooks, who could bring a smile to her face every time she saw him. She bravely battled Alzheimer’s disease for several years, yet never forgot the names of her loved ones—a true testament to her fierce and enduring love for family.
She was preceded in death by her father, Francis X. McKenna; her mother, Elizabeth (Riley) McKenna; her brother, William McKenna and sister-in-law, “Effie” McKenna.
She is survived by her husband and best friend, Robert Kendrigan. She and Bob shared their lives together, creating beautiful memories for over 31 years. In addition, she is also survived by her son, Wally Cooledge, and daughter-in-law, Candace Cooledge; her daughter, Kristen Veilleux, and son-in-law, Anthony Veilleux; her stepson, Sean Kendrigan; her grandchildren; Allyson Veilleux, Zachary Veilleux, Karlie Cooledge, Carson Cooledge, Macie Kendrigan, and Jada Kendrigan; her great-grandson, Brooks Bevelacqua, her brother, Francis McKenna and sister-in-law, Alberta “Cookie” McKenna; and many nieces, nephews and friends who she loved dearly; and her loyal canine companion, Bailey.
Her love, laughter, spunk, and generous spirit will be remembered and cherished by all who knew her.
A celebration of Ann’s life will be held sometime this summer in North Carolina.
