

Descended from one of the first colonist of New York, Arthur Thomas Morgan II was born on October 31st, 1946, in Brooklyn NY. His father, Arthur Senior, was a World War II veteran in the US Army. He grew up on Long Island and was in the inaugural class of Connetquot High School. He was an athlete and was the first player to pitch a “no hitter” for his High School, a record that stood for almost 20 years.
He met his wife Vivian on her 18th birthday, while she was out with friends. They were married on December 2nd, 1967, and were married for over 56 years.
Arthur served his country with honor, as a Captain in the US army Signal Corp Airborne for 7 years and was discharged in 1973. He worked for Verizon as a technician until his retirement.
He was a member of the American Legion, Selma Post, and was a Boy Scout leader for many years.
Arthur enjoyed car racing, and traveled all over to watch races when he could. He liked trains and went to many train museums also collecting model trains which he would set up around the house from time to time.
He was a NY Islander fan and took great pleasure in the years where they dominated the NHL. He was also an avid Mets and Jets fan.
Arthur is survived by his wife Vivian Carol Morgan, his children, Arthur Thomas Morgan III, Vivian Anne Morgan-Di Lella, and Harold Bradley Morgan, his daughter-in-law Lisa Morgan, his son-in-law Dante Di Lella, and his grandchildren Grace Elizabeth Morgan, Gillian Emily Morgan, Caleigh Jara Di Lella, Gavin Elliot Morgan, and Ryan Thomas Di Lella.
A funeral mass for Arthur will be held on August 8th, 2024 at 1 PM at Saint Ann’s Catholic Church 4057 US 70 Business Highway W. Clayton NC. An interment will occur on Friday August 9th at 1 PM at National Memorial Cemetery at Quantico, Triangle VA
