Barbara Sue Duncan Stump, age 72, died Sunday, September 6, 2026, at home. She was born on January 14, 1954, in Fayette County, West Virginia to the late Ishmael and Ruby Duncan. She worked for the North Carolina State Highway Patrol Logistics division as an Administrative Assistant, where she retired in 2016. She loved butterflies, horses, and the Carolina Hurricanes, but especially her two favorite fur-babies Buddy and Khloe. She is survived by her children, Kevin (Patty) Stump and Kristie Newton; 7 grandchildren; Matthew (Madison), Logan, Laney, Lincoln, Lawson, Allie, Melaina, and; great grandchildren, Bentley, Bryson, Baylor, Mason, Bella, and Harper. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Mike Stump; sister, GlendaMobley (Don); brother, Gary Duncan.
Her visitation will be held on Sunday, September 13, 2026, from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. at McLaurin Funeral Home & Pinecrest Memorial Park 12830 Clayton Blvd, Clayton, NC 27520.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to help offset funeral expenses may be giving to the family or funeral home.
