I remember going to Nana's house for christmas and the tree would be filled with presents and I would help her bake jesus's birthday cake. And the morning after she would come over to my house for breakfast and see what I got from santa.

I recall so many wonderful memories with Betty Jean during our high school years.  I guess my favorite is the slumber parties at her house or mine with all the girls.  She was a dear friend. To my sister,  Betty.  We have had so many good times together beginning as little girls playing using our play names. I was Sarah and you were Sue.  Being raised on the farm we did our work, went to school, went on dates and eventually married. After your marriage  you moved around a lot because of Willard’s time in the Air Force and we missed you all. When you returned home I remember the fun times we had in the summer when you invited me to join you, Willard and the grandchildren on vacation. I also remember the trips us five sisters took together. We had such a fun time filled with many laughs and lots of love. I am so glad we had 74 years to spend time together. I am going to miss you so much!

Willard and Family,  Linda and My prayers are with you and family.  We thought a lot of Betty and "Squirell".  They were always good hosts when I had to stay overnight in Raleigh while working for NCDOL, or traveling to the beach and traveled from Charlotte. God Bless all of you.

I was very sorry to hear of Betty's loss.  My thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends, as they go through this difficult time.

Mrs Betty raised two of my very best friends, Tammy and Melinda.  You passed along such amazing qualities to your daughters and grandchildren.  You will forever live on through their love, strength, generosity and beautiful smiles.

I will never look at a disposable camera the same and am thankful I wasn’t there when you got the photos back from Tammy’s wedding.

We love you all so very much.

Betty Jean and I rode the bus to school, lived in the same neighborhood, went to high school together and married one day apart. Willard introduced Woody and me, and was in our wedding Dec. 23,1967 so they married the next day, Dec. 24,1967.  We remained close friends, as both husbands were fighter pilots in the USAF. We are saddened to hear of Betty Jean’s death and know she will be terribly missed. Praying for Willard and her family during this very sad time. 

Betty was my one and only bridge partner when stationed in Calif. I wouldn’t play with anyone else. 

In the  Philippines she was my shopping partner, we became so close, I had found a sister I never had before. We talked about things we never discussed with anyone else, I will always  treasure  those takes. 

Our children even shared their 1st birthday party together. 

You are in my heart forever, and will always be with me.
