Born on September 24, 1930, he was a son to the late Haywood Bennie Amos and Dillie Pearce Amos. Billie served in the United States Army and later worked as an electrician. He was a member of the American Legion for 70 years. Billie enjoyed crossword puzzles and loved to travel. He was a kind man who will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
A funeral service will be held in the chapel of McLaurin Funeral Home at 2:00pm on Tuesday, August 4, 2026. The family will receive friends in the chapel from 1:00pm-2:00pm, just prior to the service. Committal will follow the service in Pinecrest Memorial Park in Clayton.
In addition to his parents, Billie is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Anne Amos, his daughter, Jewel Beatty, and sisters, Dora Dean Amos and Doris Amos Williams.
He is survived by his son, Kevin Barbour; grandchildren, Travis Medlin and wife Misty, Amy Lou Bridges, Amber Beatty, Morgan Vaughan and husband Joe, Jordan Neely and husband Colby, and Will Medlin.
