Billy Howard Godwin, age 82, passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2022. Billy was born March 24, 1940 in Cumberland County to the late Howard and Geneva Dorman Godwin. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 12, 2022 at 11:00 at Pinecrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 from 7-9pm at McLaurin Funeral Home, Clayton.
Billy is survived by his wife of 62 years, Linda Parrish Godwin; his daughter, Tonya Godwin Coletti of Clayton; a son, Daniel Christopher Godwin of Pine Level; brother, Harold Godwin and his wife Sue; granddaughter, Heather Coletti Olmo and her husband, Frankie. Mr. Godwin is also survived by his nephews, Tony, Gary, Randy, Tim and Mark. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his sister, Gail Godwin.
While flowers are accepted, memorial contributions may also be made to Johnston County Industries 1100 E Preston St, Selma, NC 27576; St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to a charity of one’s choice.
