Bobby is pain free enjoying his new everlasting life. His parents, Lonnie and Pearl Howell who preceded him in death as well as his sister, Frances Dixon, nephew, Lonnie W. Dixon, and son-in-law, Scott Leniton. Bobby was a friend to many and enjoyed helping ones who needed problems solved. His father died in an auto accident when Bobby was a small child and he was blessed to have a friend, Raymond Pounds, who filled the void of his father. He hired Bobby at his service station and Bobby learned mechanics and good work ethics and was later hired as a machinist-mechanic for N.C. Dept. of Transportation. Bobby retired with 30 years’ service. He was a good man who loved the Lord and always gave Jesus praise for all his blessings. He is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years Carol Thigpen Howell, with everlasting trust and love. His family always enjoyed his love and kindness, being a good provider, and his love of Christian values which is worth more than gold. He is also survived by his two daughters, Valerie Leniton of Port Richey, Florida, Lori Byrd and husband, Seann of Holly Springs and a son, Craig Howell and wife Genene of Suwanee, GA, seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at McLaurin Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Billy Nowell and Rev. James Cole officiating. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1-2 pm at the funeral home.
