

With great sorrow, we announce the passing of Carl Macon Pulley, a cherished brother, uncle, and friend, who left us on May 1, 2026. Carl was a strong, kind, and compassionate man whose helping hand was always extended to anyone who needed help or encouragement.
Born on November 5, 1954, Carl began his career as a truck driver and later as an owner/operator. In April of 2016 he joined the maintenance department at Rooms to Go where he spent his happiest years until his retirement in March of 2024.
Carl is survived by his beloved dog, Max; sister Carolyn Pulley Robinson (Randy); his nieces and nephews, Scot Robinson (Marissa), Yeats Robinson, Jude Robinson, Virgil Robinson, Christy Reeves (Rob), Kaylee Reeves (Cody), Turner Phipps, Lana Reeves (James), Debbie Newman (Lou), Lyndsey Newman, Kaitlan Newman, Billy Jones, Kenneth Jones (Michelle), Magen Jones, Clover Jones, David Jones, Millie Rouse, Matt Donato (Courtney), Reed Connor, Brantley Donato, Elsie Donato, Jesse Pulley, and Ryan Pulley. He is preceded in death by his longtime companion, Edith Nelson and survived by her children, Chance Parrish (Julianna), William Parrish (Natalie), Victoria Lynn Parrish, and his friend, Kaye Stokeley.
Carl was an avid car enthusiast and won numerous shows with 1984 Corvette. He was a friend to everyone he met and, through his compassion and humor, Carl had an ability to help people see the best in the most difficult situations. He had genuine empathy for others and could be counted on to help wherever he was needed.
A celebration of Carl’s life will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at 11:00 am at Powhatan Original Free Will Baptist Church. Close friends and family are invited to honor his memory and share stories of his remarkable life.
