She grew up in East Providence and attended public schools. Tina graduated from East Providence Senior High School in 1966.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years Christopher A. Riley; her sister, Nancy Grasso and husband, George of Granby, CT; her brothers, Jerry D’Amico and wife Susan, and their children, Amerigo Lucas, Sarah W. and Ruth S. of Roxbury, Vermont and Guido Peter D’Amico and wife Kate and their children, Melissa and Rebecca of Woodbury Vermont; granddaughters, Rachel Riley and Cara Raymond of Rhode Island.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Kristin Ann Raymond (Riley) and grandson, James Andrew Raymond.
Chris and Tina were married on June 12, 1982. Together they lived in East Providence, Rhode Island before moving to Clayton, North Carolina in 1991. In 2020 they moved to Mission, Texas returning to Clayton last year.
Tina spent most of her career employed in a variety of accounting and positions. She started as a key punch entry billing clerk and worked her way up to full charge bookkeeping. She retired from accounting work performing tax audit work.
Tina loved the Lord and shared her life story with those that needed to hear how Jesus healed and changed her life.
She loved her daughter Kristin and grandchildren with all her might. Though she may have been viewed as too strict and old fashioned, it was only to help protect them from the obstacles and trials that she faced, and a world that is very different from when she grew up.
Tina enjoyed volunteering with Clayton Area Ministries and with various church activities. To deepen her walk with Jesus, Tina attended Heart of Carolina Walk to Emmaus and served in variety of ways with North Carolina Presbyterian Pilgrimage. She especially enjoyed gardening and reading. She thought the Kindle was the best invention. She enjoyed playing cards and just being with friends.
Tina and Chris enjoyed camping, attending NASCAR races and seeing the sights around the country. They started out tent camping and moved up over the years to their current Winnebago “mobile apartment.”
Over the years, Tina and Chris enjoyed the company of their furry children Buffy (half Pekinese and half Toy Collie); German Shepard Dogs, Samantha, Midnight and Missy; Collie, Sabrina and their current little one Spitz, Snowball.
Tina’s greatest joy came from her Pomeranian Snickers, who was her little buddy for 16 years. Snickers reminded us of a five-year-old boy, always looking to get into something. He stayed glued to her but also had an independent streak. Snickers always knew how to entertain.
A celebration of Tina’s life will be held Sunday, March 1, 5:00 pm at Amelia Christian Church, 1696 Amelia Church Road, Clayton, NC. Pilgrims please wear your cross.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to New Life Ministries, https://nlminfo.org/, Agape Childrens Ministries, https://agapechildren.org/ , or Amelia Christian Church.
