Clyde "Houston" Weems
September 12, 1948 – June 13, 2022

Clyde Houston Weems, 73, of Smithfield, NC, passed away June 13th, 2022, after suffering from Lewy Body Dementia. He was born September 12th, 1948, to the late Clyde Henry and Veatries Maybelle (Watson) Weems in Opa- Locka, Florida.
Houston is survived by his loving wife, Diane, of more than 52 years and sons Shawn Houston Weems (Mary) of Raleigh, NC and Mark Roland Weems (Donna) of Wake Forest, NC. Houston was known as Papaw to Alara Hannah Weems and Sara Caitlyn Weems of Wake Forest and Victoria Katherine DeAnne Weems of Raleigh.
He served in the Air Force for 8 years and was stationed in the US and Germany. Upon leaving the Air Force, he was a computer programmer for three years at the US Department of Fish and Wildlife in Michigan, and a Computer Specialist for the Department of Justice Federal Bureau of Prisons, retiring in 2001, after 30 years of service. He returned to the workforce with NCDHHS, where he worked for several years.
He loved Jesus, his family, fishing, gardening, listening to worship music, and especially Alabama Football.
A Celebration of Life will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Association at 912 Killian Hill Rd SW, Lilburn, GA 30047.
