Debra Joan Dougherty

CLAYTON – Debra Joan Dougherty, age 58, passed away on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at Cary Health and Rehab in Cary, NC.

A Private Celebration of Her Life Service will be held at a later date.

She was born November 2, 1962 in Fairfield, Connecticut to the late Paul and Joan Smart.

Debra had been sick since a very young age but never let that stop her from following her dream of being a mother. She was an amazing and loving mother who did everything to help her children grow into the adults they are today.

The happiest day of her life was the day she became a grandma. She wore that name with pride and told everyone she could about her granddaughter. Debra and her granddaughter did almost everything together. Some of there favorite things to do was snuggle together, eat cupcakes and cookies, and watch one of the favorite shows Mia and Me.

Debra will be forever loved and remembered by all who knew her for having such a big heart.

She is survived by her daughter Kristine, her son Bruce, and her granddaughter Melody.
