Douglas Brett Ansley, age 58, joined his heavenly father on Saturday, June 23, 2018 after a valiant battle with a long illness. His devotion to his family and his firm belief in God supported him in his struggle and ultimately gave him peace. His favorite scriptures to lean on were Philippines 4:13 and John 3:16.
Douglas Brett Ansley was born in Moses Lake, WA to Nancy & Jack Ansley on May 2, 1960. He went to school at East Forsyth High School, Kernersville, NC. Douglas Brett married Mary Ann Ansley on August 19, 1995 in Winston-Salem, NC. He worked as a structural steel welder & fitter for North State Steel for 11 years and Brenner Steel for 10 years. Douglas Brett spent many years helping to build Assemblies of God churches. He also enjoyed working as a carpenter in his free time. Douglas Brett was a resident of Clayton, North Carolina at the time of his passing.
Douglas Brett is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Mary Ann Ansley; a daughter, Melissa McMillion and her husband, Philip of Bristow, VA; a son, Matthew Brett James Ansley and his wife Courtney of Stanaford, WV; brothers, Ken Ansley and his wife Jan of Kernersville, NC, Keith Ansley of Dobson, NC; his favorite sister, Jackie Wilkins of Winston-Salem, NC; niece, Lauren Wilkins Speckin and her husband Bruce of Mocksville, NC; father, Jack Ansley of Dobson, NC; and six grandchildren, Kayleigh McMillion, Allison McMillion, Kyle McMillion, Dyllan Ansley, Mason Ansley, and Cameron Ansley. Douglas Brett is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Douglas Brett is preceded in death by his son, Joseph Robert Edmond; his mom, Nancy Whitaker Ansley; and his grandparents, Bunyun Ansley, Bonnie Ansley Murrow, Robert V Murrow, and Minnie and Leonard Whitaker.
Memorial services will be held 5:00pm on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at McLaurin Funeral Home, Clayton, NC with Thomas Whited of Hope Community Church, officiating. Visitation and reception with family to follow.
