Durwood Henry Jones

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, July16, 2014 in the chapel of McLaurin Funeral Home with Reverend Bob Copeland officiating. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park with military honors.

He was a native of Johnston County and a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. Mr. Jones was the retired owner of Four-Way Construction Company and a lifelong member and a former deacon of Hickory Grove Advent Christian Church in Four Oaks, NC.

Durwood was known for his work ethic, honesty, integrity, intelligence, and his faith in God. His way was the right way. He was a master craftsman and he always provided well for his family. He is a role model for living a moral and humble life. We have lost a very decent and good man.

Durwood is survived by his wife of 58 years, Paula Edgerton Jones; two sons, Stevan Durwood Jones and Wesley Scott Jones and wife Aimee D. Jones; three grandchildren, Matthew P. Jones, Samantha N. Jones and Jacob M. Jones; and extended family, Lilly Shearon, Becky Lane and Amanda Lane.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the funeral home prior to the service.
