Edna Clifton, 98, of Clayton passed from death to eternal life on Tuesday, January 6th at Wake Med Hospital with her 3 daughters by her side. She was pre-deceased by her parents Will and Emily Barbour as well as 8 siblings: Elmo, Zack, Colleen, Marie, Harley, Sherrill, Louise and Bobby. She was the widow of Seba Clifton, who passed away in 1999. She is survived by her 3 loving daughters: Brenda Thornton of Clayton, Phyllis Austin (Jack) of Garner and Dawn Spittle (David) of Raleigh. She is survived by 3 grandchildren: Tonya Miller (Chris) of Greensboro, Jeff Austin (Candace) of Apex and Corey Stephenson (Kari) of Garner. She is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren: Olivia Miller of Greensboro, Riley and Ryan Austin of Apex, Audrey and Georgia Stephenson of Proctorville, Ohio and Kati and Karter Parrish of Garner. Funeral services will be on Monday, January 11th at McLaurin Funeral Home Chapel at 11 a.m. with visitation from 10-11. Officiating will be Dr. Ray Carr and Pastor Grace Hargis. Private burial will be afterwards for immediate family only. In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made to Baptist Center Church in Clayton.

I loved my Aunt Edna with all my heart.I will miss her so much. She has always been an inspiration too me. She lived the Lord and when I stayed with her we would sing. I wash my hands this morning so very clean and wihite. I.I lift them up to Jesus. and we both woul lift our hands uo. That is a precious memory I will never forget. She was amazing sweet loving and so much more. Shis now with her Jesus and how happy she is. Loveyou.martha Annette Norris.
