Ellen Pounds Evans, 92, passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2019. Born in Johnston County on March 22, 1927 she is the daughter of the late Vick and Lela Barbour Pounds.

Surviving are her son, Neil Evans and his wife Dawn; daughter, Dale Gordon and her husband Ricky; grandchildren, Amy Zabriskie, Brandon Evans, Darryl Evans, Brittany Clifton and Ashley Gordon; great grandchildren, Zachary, Landon, Walker, Hannah, Addison and Payton. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, William Jesse "Bill" Evans and a son, Jesse Wayne Evans.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 3:00pm in the chapel of McLaurin Funeral Home with entombment following at Pinecrest Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends on Friday from 1:30 until 2:30 at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the SECU Hospice House 426 Hospital Rd. Smithfield, NC 27577.
