Emma Evans Pittman

Emma was a member of Wildwood Free Will Baptist Church. She had an unshakable love for the Lord. She was a wise counselor who reminded us to handle every concern with prayer. Emma lived out her faith in her service to others, sharing her incredible talent for cooking and baking. She cherished her family and they were the joy of her life.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at Wildwood Free Will Baptist Church in Garner. The family will receive friends from 10:00am-11:00am just prior to the service. Burial will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Park in Clayton.

In addition to her parents, Emma is preceded in death by her brothers, Baucom Evans, Milton Evans, Bill Evans, Howard Evans, Wilbert Evans, and David Evans: sister, Elgie Evans and grandson, Dillon Overcash.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 71 years, Billy Pittman of Garner; son, Eugene Pittman and wife, Carolyn of Apex; daughter, Wendy Overcash and husband, Lyle of Garner; grandchildren, Ben Pittman, Megan Melhorn (Justin) and Katelyn Overcash; sisters, Eley Watkins, Dorothy Jean Popa, and brother, Robert Johnson, as well as several nieces and nephews.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Wildwood Free Will Baptist Church. Floral tributes are also welcome and appreciated.
