Eunice Chrismas

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, in the chapel of McLaurin Funeral Home in Clayton, North Carolina with Pastor David Sutphin officiating. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at the funeral home, before the service.

Mrs. Chrismas was born in Berwick, St. Catherine, Jamaica, West Indies on September 7, 1928. Her birth was recorded on October 7, 1928, to the late Samuel Grant and the late Retinella Martin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Madge Buchanan, brothers Robert Grant and Daniel Grant, half-sister Eulalee Scott, and her only son Eric Everton Burt.

She was a retired midwife-nurse who enjoyed knitting, sewing, cooking, baking, gardening, homesteading, and babysitting her grandchildren whenever she could.

She is survived by her children, Claudette Beverley Chrismas, Samantha Jayne Chrismas, and Jennifer Patricia Chrismas; grandchildren, Syreeta Gibson Justin Burt, and Natalie Burt, Michael Beck, Daniel Beck, Emilie Chrismas; great-grandchildren, Jolie Gibson, Imani Gibson, Ethan Burt, Ariah Burt and Ammar James; and sisters, Gwendolyn Michel, Veronica Grant and Beryl Blake.
