A gathering of family and friends will be held from 10:00 AM until 12 noon on Saturday, November 15, 2025 in the Magnolia Room of McLaurin Funeral Home in Clayton, North Carolina.
She was born on March 30, 1941, in Harnett County, North Carolina, and was the cherished daughter of the late William Robert and Lessie Beasley Ashworth.
Febbie grew up as part of a large and devoted family, a bond she carried throughout her life. She was preceded in death by five loving brothers, Brooks, Leamon, Bill, Sam, and James, and by her beloved great-grandson, Forest.
She married the love of her life, Marvin Danney Prince, and together they shared a beautiful partnership for 64 and a half years, building a life defined by family and tradition, and raising their two dedicated sons, Martin David and Michael Dale. In her younger years, Febbie had a lively spirit, enjoying dancing and spending time near the water. Febbie also had a legendary, if not always conventional, love for cooking; she was known for her "mystery meat" dishes where she would creatively combine whatever ingredients were on hand.
After a period living in Virginia, Febbie and Marvin returned to their North Carolina roots, settling on a quiet plot of land where their shared passions flourished. Marvin lovingly tended a huge garden, and Febbie could often be found sitting nearby, happily snapping fresh beans or shelling peas. Their later years brought them immense joy at Kerr Lake, where they spent most summer weekends relaxing and enjoying the water. Febbie was a highly sociable soul, known for riding her golf cart through the neighborhood, stopping to share stories and socialize with friends and neighbors.
Febbie’s enduring legacy is carried on by her devoted husband, Marvin Danney Prince. She is survived by her sons, Martin and his wife Tracy, and Michael and his wife Amy. Her spirit lives on in her cherished grandchildren: Matthew (Kaena), Brittany (Justin), Maxwell (Lauren), Brooke (Hunter), Bonnie (Tyler), Marie, Madison, and step-grandchildren Charlie and Matt (Jenn) Caulder. She was also blessed with ten great-grandchildren, Oakley, Reese, Lillie, Wade, Kendall, Hattie, Jonathan, Ronnie Mae, and step-great-grandchildren Lindley and Charlotte. She is also survived by her loving sister, Sarah Knowles (Junior), and her brother, A.D. Ashworth (Jackie).
Febbie's kindness, deep devotion to family, and warm presence will be profoundly missed by all who knew her. In keeping with the sweet tradition of "Mema,"she would never say goodbye, but only, "Bye bye for now."

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in Febbie's memory to the Juvenile Diabetes Association.
