

George Anthony “Tony” Bell age 60, passed away on Monday, February 12, 2024. Tony was born in Wake County on March 16, 1963 to the late George Henry and Betty Jean Brown Bell. Raised in Clayton, he graduated from Clayton High School and attended North Carolina State University before joining the US Navy. While in the Navy, Tony served as a Nuclear Machinist Mate in the nuclear propulsion plant onboard the USS Enterprise and was a Naval Nuclear Power School & Prototype graduate. He also earned a degree in Nuclear Engineering from Thomas Edison State University. After his military service, his career brought him to Lake Jackson, TX where he started his family and lived for many years.
He is survived by his son, Anthony Bell and his wife, Reagan; daughter, Laurin Cuellar and her husband, Josh; sister, Bronna Greer and her husband, Paul; nieces, Laura Carver and her husband, Stephen; Julianne Scott and her husband Tom; great nieces, Kyndal Carver, Khloe Carver, and Kennedy Carver; great nephews, Greer Scott and Reid Scott. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Roy Heflin and Vandelia Tillett Brown and paternal grandparents, Vernon and Lala Bell.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at 11:00am in the chapel of McLaurin Funeral Home with the family receiving friends following the service. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy for the Bell family may be entered below within the "add a memory" tab.
