

Georgia Mae was born in Nash County to Bunyan D. and Pearl Joyner Cooper on April 29, 1923. She went to school in Spring Hope and was raised on a tobacco farm in Nash County. Georgia Mae was a beautiful and loving lady who cared dearly for her family and friends. She finally was called home to the Lord after several years of advanced Alzheimer’s disease.
Georgia married Dalton H. Adams in 1946 and they were lovingly committed to one another for 57 years until Dalton’s death at the age 83 in 2003. She was a longtime member of Tippett’s Chapel Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school for many years.
Georgia was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Dalton Adams; sisters, Doris Cooper Purdue and Helen Cooper Batten; brothers, Horace Cooper and Charles Cooper and granddaughter, Michelle Adams.
Georgia is survived by her loving sons, Rodger C. Adams and Tony L. Adams and wife, Judy M. Adams; step-grandsons, Douglas Feldman and Andrew Feldman and wife, Catherine; step-great grandchildren, Elie and Dalton Feldman; great-granddaughter, Lauren Bice and sister, Joyce Cooper Bartholomew.
The family of Georgia Adams wishes to extend our sincere thanks to her friends and family who cared so deeply for her and to the dedicated staff of Laurels of Forrest Glenn.
Funeral services will be held at 6 pm on Thursday, February 15, at McLaurin Funeral Home 12830 US-70 Bus. Hwy. W., Clayton, 27520 with the service being officiated by Rev. Eddie Moody of Tippett’s Chapel Baptist. A private burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery.
