Gregory Dean Clawson

Gregory Dean Clawson, 63 of Raleigh, NC passed away peacefully Tuesday morning at WakeMed. Greg was born in Norwalk, CA and moved to NC with his family in his younger years. He graduated from Smithfield Selma High School’s Life Skills program. Greg worked as an Assembly Team member at Wake Enterprises for over 41 years. He had a wonderful work ethic and never wanted to miss a day making money. Greg moved to Hailey Drive Group home in 1992, where he received excellent support and love from all his staff and clients. He attended Highland Baptist Church and was an active member in the special ministries, attending the Joy Sunday School class. He loved singing with the Grace Notes Choir. Greg loved music, an especially enjoyed The Beach Boys. He loved Diet Coke and chocolate candy. Greg loved his family so much and made many wonderful memories with them over the years. Greg was preceded in death by his father Ira Gene Clawson, mother Selma Abreu Clawson, baby brother Gregory Vincent Clawson and grandparents Ira James and Vinnie Clawson, Peter and Fidelia Abreu. He is survived by his sister and brother in law Gayle Clawson Woods and Gerald Woods, brother and sister in law Rusty and Meredith Clawson, nieces Angela Woods (Adrian), Emily Woody (Sean), Ally Clawson, nephew Colby Clawson, great-nephew Bryson Woody, great-niece Bree Woody and a host of extended family and friends. A visitation for Gregory will be held Sunday, March 19, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Highland Baptist Church, Raleigh, NC. A funeral service will occur Sunday, March 19, 2023 at 2:30 PM at HIghland Baptist Church, A graveside service will be held Monday, March 20, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Raleigh Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Gregory's memory may be made to (Joy Class) Highland Baptist Church Special Ministries Fund , 8524 Crowder Road , Raleigh, North Carolina 27603 US.
