A native of KayJay, KY, Babs was born April 20, 1932 to the late Henry R. and Carla D. Baker Owens. Babs was truly the life of the party, a kindred spirit, and the one person that no one could ever forget.
She is survived by her grandson, Jeremy A. Allen; great grandson, Hunter V. Allen; her special friends, Maggie Jones and Susan Barnette; daughter-in-law, Deborah Brunner; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Richard E. Allen; brothers, Robert E. and James C. Owens; and a sister Clara “Ginger” O. Smith.
A celebration of her life will be Thursday, June 11, 2015 at 2pm in the McLaurin Funeral Home Chapel, 12830 US HWY 70 Business West, Clayton, NC 27520. The family will receive friends from 1-2pm at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Pinecrest Memorial Park Mausoleum.
