A service to celebrate his life will be held 11:00 am Friday, June 27, 2025 in the chapel of McLaurin Funeral Home in Clayton, North Carolina. Inurnment will follow in the Pinecrest Memorial Park with full military honors.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM Friday, June 27, 2025 at the funeral home, prior to the service.
Mr. Benavides was born in New York City, New York on November 13, 1945 to the late Enrique Benavides and the late Olga Richmond Benavides.
He was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corp having served during the Vietnam Conflict. He was a retired Law Enforcement Officer with The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and working with the North Carolina, Student Trooper Program.
He is survived by his daughter, Elisa Miller and husband David; and grandchildren, Aiden and Isabella.
