Donald was a wonderful and kind man who loved all of his family. A strong Christian who was faithful in service to God. I remember how much he and Linda were in love and the fairy princess wedding. He was always so patient with all of they younger cousins even when we would call him at work. He was overjoyed to be the father of Julie and Jackie and would let us play with the babies under his watchful eyes....in his later years she spoke with pride about his girls and wonderful grandchildren children. May God bless you all and you all remain in our prayers.
Love Mary and Alan

Julie, Jackie, Wayne, Donnie, Meredith, Brandon, Kaitlyn and Sarah,

I could write about a million happy times!!! I thought of another dear memory that I would like to share.

Donald was always the "fun" parent!!! I remember he rode with Julie and I on the Himalaya at the amusement park at Myrtle Beach. We may have been too young to have ridden it by ourselves, but he rode it with us!!! I remember him driving that Toyota station wagon all around at Myrtle Beach taking us all different places. What a fun trip!!! That was one of the best trips to the beach that I have ever had.

We used to take long walks on Sunday afternoons across from Donald's house. There are houses there now. Back in the day, we would walk about 3 or 4 miles back behind there. Lots of good exercise!!! We would see Christine as we walked up back behind her house. Christine was a very sweet neighbor also!!! We would also visit "Grommie" and Papa Jones sometimes on Sunday afternoons. He would let us drive that same Toyota station wagon on the path from the church to the home place.

Many birthdays, Christmases and trips shared!!!! All such fond memories.

Lots of fun with Donald!!!

My parents and I have been blessed to have had Donald and Linda as our next door neighbor!!! Not many people have the same neighbor for over 50 years!!!

Although he will be missed dearly, he is in Heaven with Jesus. No more pain, sadness or sorrow. We will see him again one day!!!

love ya'll so much,

Renee and David Rhodes

I have been friends with Julie since elementary school. Some of my favorite childhood memories include the Jones family. Mr. Donald was a great man. My thoughts and prayers are with the family, but I know that Mr. Donald is HOME and is so happy to be with Jesus and Mrs. Linda!!

Julie, Jackie, Meredith, Brandon, Kaitlyn and Sarah

We loved Donald so much!!! Our families lived beside of each other for 56 years!!!

Donald was a wonderful neighbor and a wonderful person!!!

Daddy has told me the story many times about Donald helping me take my very first steps. I believe I called him "Gongol" before I could say his name clearly.

So many fond memories of growing up beside of Donald!!! Donald and Linda were my second parents. Donald was the first to build in the neighborhood. I know that daddy is going to miss him very much. It won't seem right when I go to my parents and not be able to go over and visit Donald.

All of you are family!!! Julie and Jackie I hope that we can all stay in touch. Please let me if there is anything that we can do for you.

Donald will be missed by so many!!! I know he is with Jesus and Linda!!!

We love you all dearly.

Love in Christ,

David and Renee Rhodes

Donald was a faithful servant of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ!!! He made so many people feel welcomed at Mount Moriah!!! Love all of you!!!

My best childhood memory is going to Myrtle Beach with Uncle Donald , Aunt Linda, Julie and Jacky. We would stay at the Shady Rest and go to the beach. It was so much fun. Uncle Donald has always been a wonderful example of what a man and a Christian should be. He loved his family, church and church family. He was always there for anyone who needed him and never had a bad thing to say. I know he is with God and in a much better place. I love you all and I will miss him greatly.
