Irene Parrish Benson, 96, passed away Sunday. Funeral service will be held 10:00 A.M. Thursday in the Chapel of McLaurin Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Hill officiating, burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 7-9 P.M. at the funeral home. She is survived by her sons, Jimmy C. Benson and wife Alice, Jerry K. Benson and wife Jane Gray. Michael W. Benson and wife Patricia, Steven R. Benson and his wife Michelle, 8 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Benson. While flowers are accepted, memorial contributions may be made to Hocutt Ellington Memorial Library, 100 S. Church St. Clayton, NC 27520.
