Jackie Carol Parrish Lushene-Edwards

A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held 2:00 PM Monday, February 16, 2026, in the chapel of McLaurin Funeral Home with Pastor Jonathan Pearce and Pastor Woody Parrish officiating.

Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens located next to the funeral home.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at the funeral home, prior to the service.

She was born in Micro, North Carolina on May 22, 1942, to the late Jessie Little Parrish and the late Ola Mae Creech Parrish. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Joseph Michael Lushene, Sr. and James Stanley Edwards; brothers, Loumas Parrish, Glen Parrish, Thurman Parrish, Harold Parrish, and William Parrish; sisters, Myrtie Parrish Atkins and Linda Parrish Grissom.

Jackie retired from GMAC Finance after serving 25 years. She enjoyed family time, spending time with the grandchildren and great-grandchildren, reading her Bible and attending church weekly, playing computer games, and keeping in touch with Facebook friends. She never met a stranger and loved everyone her path crossed.

She is survived by her sister, Faye Parrish Shingleton from Garner, North Carolina; her children, Jacqueline DeAnne Lushene Allison (Richard) from Holly Springs, North Carolina and Joseph Michael Lushene Jr. (Paula) from Apex, North Carolina; grandchildren, Meghan Danielle Allison Nealey (Nathan) from Denton, North Carolina and Mathew Daniel Allison from Willow Spring, North Carolina, Joshua Porter McComas from Apex, North Carolina, Lauren Nicole Lushene Cantey (Jackson) from Greenville, South Carolina, and Brandon Michael Lushene from Raleigh, North Carolina; great-grandchildren, Deacon Graham Nealey and Reagan Wake Nealey both from Denton, North Carolina, and Elijah Zan McComas, Ezra Ezekiel McComas, and Emmet Judah McComas all from Marietta, Georgia. Also, numerous nieces and nephews.
