BENSON – Jamie Allen Perry, age 79, passed away on January 4, 2022 at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 am Saturday, January 8, 2022 in the chapel of McLaurin Funeral Home in Clayton with Jerry Perry and Jamie Billingsley officiating. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum at Pinecrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10:30 AM until 11:00 AM Saturday, January 8, 2002 at the funeral home prior to the service.
He was born in Wake County on March 23, 1942 to the late Jamie Wesley Perry and the late Daisy Belle Duncan Perry. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by, his sister, Sylvia Carol Wells.
Jamie was retired from the North Carolina Department of Corrections as a prison guard and previously work as Raleigh police officer and Trailways bus driver. He enjoyed reading, fishing, country music, getting together with high school classmates and visiting with family.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years Althea Wilson Perry; son, Chris Perry; stepson Bryan Wilson, Sr.; grandchildren, Bryan Wilson, Jr and Jasmine Hitzeroth; brothers and sisters, Jerry Perry and Valeria Perry; and many nephews and nieces.
