Jean Ann Tart

Born in Rolesville, NC, on March 6, 1941, she was a daughter to the late Mack Henry Hurt and Gladys Hamilton Hurt.

Jean was a devoted housewife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed attending church until her health declined, planting flowers, raising her two children, and spending time with her three grandchildren over the years.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm in the mausoleum chapel of Pinecrest Memorial Park on Friday, May 29, 2026. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Melvin C. Tart and her brothers, Bill, Arthur, and Robert Hurt.

Jean is survived by her daughter, Shelia Ross and husband Johnny Ross of Clayton, NC; son, Jeffrey Tart and wife Ginger Tart of Clayton, NC; sisters, Elsie Linder of Denver, NC; Marie Ferrell of Zebulon, NC; Peggy Brown of Zebulon, NC; brothers, Doug Hurt of Rolesville, NC and Donald Hurt of Raleigh, NC; grandchildren, Sarah Ross of Clayton, NC; Hunter Tart of Selma, NC; Miles Tart and wife Rebecca Tart of Charleston, SC; and great granddaughter, Piper Tart of Charleston, SC.
