Jerry Donald "Moose" Dupree, age 75, passed away late Monday, January 8, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family. Jerry was born on October 24, 1948, to the late Jerry Mar Dupree and the late Lillian (Nichols) Dupree.
Jerry and his 5 sisters were born and raised on a farm in rural Johnston County, so hard work came naturally to him being the only boy. After marrying the love of his life Marie in 1971, he began his career as a carpenter that lasted for 40+ years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and the many family vacations made to the mountains and beach. He also loved he's beagle dog's, hunting and fishing in his spare time.
In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his sisters, Mary Rose Dupree Gay and Emma Jean Dupree King.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 52 years, Marie Ellis Dupree; daughters, Vickie Dupree Ivey and husband, Junior, Emily Dupree Egelston and fiancé, Brian Cox; grandchildren, Chance Parrish and fiancé, Alexis Landerl, Chase Parrish, Lance Barker, Destiny Cox, Ashley Cox, Andrew Cox, and Kyra Rhuebottom; sisters, Linda Mae Dupree Murray, Betty Sue Dupree Tyndall and her husband, Ray, Ann Dupree Badgett.
He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 14, 2024, at 2:00pm in the chapel of McLaurin Funeral Home with the burial following at Pinecrest Memorial Park, Clayton. The family will receive friends and family on Sunday, one hour prior to the service from 1:00 until 2:00pm at McLaurin Funeral Home.
