

Jody Paul Gallup lovingly known as “Papa Jode” age 62, unexpectedly passed away on Monday, May 25, 2026, at his home in Clayton, NC. Born in Syracuse, New York, on April 11, 1964, he was a son to the late John “Jack” Gallup Sr. and his mother, Mary Gallup.
Jody graduated from Charles W. Baker High School in Baldwinsville, NY, and went on to serve 8 honorable years in the US Army. After his service, he worked as a truck driver and in manufacturing for years before losing his vision. Jody had many hobbies and passions throughout the years. His latest included boxing, which he also enjoyed as a kid. He enjoyed hunting, camping, and had a love for the outdoors! He specifically enjoyed hunting and camping with his brother, John. After moving to NC, he looked forward to gathering for tent talk every Friday night. Jody loved to collect random things (everything). Before moving to NC, Jody devoted most of his time to his camp in Newfield, NY, where he made many memories with his wife, family, and one of his closest friends Byron Wilson. These memories and devotion will be carried on by his nephew J.J (Joel) Sosenko.
In addition to his father, Jody is preceded in death by his son, Joshua d. Gallup and brother, Joel Gallup.
Jody is survived by his wife, Cheryl A. Gallup; mother, Mary Gallup; daughter, Jackie Gallup; son, Jody Paul Gallup Jr., stepsons, Ted Hastings and his wife Tanya Hastings, and Shawn hastings and his wife Melanie Hastings; brother, John Gallup and his partner Ginny Murdoch, sister, Maria Gallup; and several grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
The family will be holding a celebration of life in Clayton, NC, on Saturday, May 30, 2026. Please contact the immediate family for service details.
