John Mark Morris, age 60 passed away on Wednesday, July 14, 2021. A memorial Service for John Mark will be held Thursday, October 20, 2022 at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church, 202 S 4th St, Smithfield, NC 275277.
John Mark Morris was a graduate of East Carolina University with a degree in business. He followed a career path that would take him to Palm Springs, Ca. where John Mark showed off his skill set to several companies- Marriot Hotel as Banquet Manager, Bohemian Distributors as Sales and Merchandising leader, and Jansen Pharmaceutical as Sales Representative. After leaving Jansen, John Mark flipped properties, some home design/décor work and administrative work for a local City Council office holder. These last two occupations were both true passions of his.
Outside of work John Mark loved cars, good movies/TV, traveling, his family and his friends. John Mark was a very selfless person who never met a person that wasn’t his friend. He is preceded by his grandparents; Jack Morris, Mary Morris, Pearl Gaskins, his cousin-Butch Pearson. John Mark’s survivors are his father-Billy, brother-David, nephew-Joshua, cousin-Ginger Rutland, cousin-Greg Norris, and sister-in-law-Teresa.
John Mark has been terribly missed since his passing not only by his families, but his friends as well. We look forward to finally celebrating a life well lived. His memorial service will be held alongside his beloved mother, Tink.
