John’s first love was his God, Jehovah, as he was a devout Jehovah’s Witness for over 40 years. He followed on that strong faith with his devotion to family and friends. The impact he had on their lives, even strangers, will be long remembered.
John loved traveling, gardening, and playing tennis; he was always on the move and could never sit still. "Papa" will always be remembered as a humble man; a kind, gentle, and loving husband, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Robert Hennon, M.D. and Dr. Russell Anderson, M.D. as well as the staff at Johnston Memorial Hospital for their tireless efforts to keep John in good health and making him comfortable in the times he needed them.
Thanks to our family and friends who have offered love, prayers, and support throughout.
