Passed the third week of May on Friday the 23rd of 2025 at the age of 80.

He was born in Vila Nova de Gaia, Porto Portugal in 1944

He left his home, in Portugal, with his wife, Maria to Mozambique escaping a dictatorship for the prospect of a brighter future for him and his family. He then brought his family to Rhodesia/Zimbabwe, where he learned his trade working for mining companies. In 1983 he brought his family to America banking on the American dream. After a successful career as a sheet metal mechanic, he started his company Silva and Son before retiring.

In retirement, he enjoyed gardening and making wine from the grapes he grew in his backyard and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He had an amazing work ethic, a great sense of humor and was always ready to talk soccer, his other great passion.

He is preceded by his father, Antonio O. E Silva, his mother, Carolina De Freitas, and his wife, Maria Sofia Barbosa Silva

He has survived by his two children Ligia F. Richards and Jose Antonio Barbosa Silva and his five grandchildren, Sasha M Richards, William J Richards, Alana L Richards, Katleen Silva, Tommy Silva and three great grandchildren.

His presence will be sorely missed by his family and friends
