Joseph Lee Devenow III

Mr. Joseph L. Devenow III, 68 died at his home in Clayton, NC. Joseph previously lived in Wallingford and Mendon, VT. He was born in Rutland, VT on February 24, 1949, the son of Joseph and Mildred Devenow. He married Catherine Sharp on June 26, 1971 in Rutland, VT Joe served his country in the US Air Force He worked as an electrician for many years, then retired from the State of Vermont after 30 years as an electrical and tramway inspector at the Ski Areas. After retiring, moved to Clayton, NC to work alongside his son. In addition to his parents, Joe was predecessed by his sister, Joan Ringquest, brothers, Gary Devenow and William Devenow. Survived by his wife Cathy, a daughter Carrie Devenow Jones and husband Peter Jones of Fernandina Beach, FL.; son, Joseph L Devenow IV of Raleigh, NC; 4 grandchildren, Jackson, Brycen, Camille & Jordan; sister Barb Slayton of Cornish, NH; Adlore Devenow of Raleigh, NC and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Joe enjoyed hunting, fishing and had a great love for the outdoors. He loved spending time camping and traveling with his family and friends. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4pm until 7pm at the Aldous Funeral Home, 44 North Main Street, Rutland. Funeral services will be held 11AM Wednesday at the Aldous Funeral Home.
