Joseph E. “Joe” Murgolo, born May 26, 1949, in Brooklyn, New York, and passing on January 1, 2026, lived his life in quiet service to others, carrying kindness and thoughtfulness as his natural way of being in the world.
He built a career in finance and brokerage services that he genuinely loved, but it was in the every day moments, such as sharing stories, watching a basketball game, or putting on a Bob Dylan record, that his truest presence was felt.
Joe was married for 51 years to the love of his life, Dolores, and, after her, his greatest pride was found in his two sons, Dustin and Jarrett, whose lives he watched over with steady devotion and unspoken encouragement. He lived by a simple but powerful code to treat people with respect, lead with compassion, and make room for beliefs different from your own.
More than anything, he will be remembered as a man who was always quietly asking how he could make someone else’s day lighter, happier, and more whole.
Our most sincere appreciation goes to the SECU Hospice House who cared for Joe in his last days. Every staff member consistently offered comfort care and peace. His family will be eternally grateful.
