Julie Boseman Hauser died peacefully on October 29, 2020. She was a beloved mother, sister, cousin, aunt, and friend, with a very big heart and personality. Her death leaves an empty space in our lives.
Julie was born October 15, 1961 in Rocky Mount, NC to the late Jimmie D. and Amy Elizabeth Inscoe Boseman. Her childhood in the community of Benvenue was packed with cousins, horses, dogs and mischief, a place and time when she learned to take charge! She was a natural entrepreneur and started her first business in her early teens by teaching riding lessons on ponies she acquired specifically for the purpose. After graduating from Rocky Mount Senior High School she moved to Clayton and continued her work with horses at the Willie York family farm, Whisper Wind.
She embraced Clayton as her new home. She quickly became involved in her community at White Oak Baptist Church where she worked with the nursery children and with seniors. She had the ability to find sincere connection with each person, no matter what age. Julie loved Archer Lodge and became a servant at the Community Center with a “whatever you need me to do “ attitude. One of her favorite projects was helping with ‘Little Miss Archer Lodge’ pageants, an event designed to help young girls gain self-confidence.
Julie was a well-respected and successful real estate broker. She loved helping her clients make important choices about new homes for their families. She was also generous with her time and knowledge. She enjoyed mentoring new agents and discussing real estate challenges with her colleagues. She cherished her long and mutually successful partnership with her nephew, Brad.
Her home was a welcoming place for our traditional family celebrations and for young people who might need shelter or a guiding hand through the growing pains of becoming adults. Her infectious energy and love for others were gifts she gave freely. No questions, just welcoming arms and a little, well maybe a lot, of SASS!
Julie is survived by her son, John Thorne, the light of her eye; by her brother, Rusty Boseman (Linda); sisters, Susan B. Roberts, Marsha B. Langley (Keith); by nephews, Scott Boseman (Jessica), Brad Langley, Todd Langley (Kayla Davis); and nieces, Elizabeth Bottoms, Kathryn Roberts; by great-nephews and -nieces Libby and Carter Langley, Greyson Privette, Lynn Marie, Austin, Addison Bottoms, Nathan, Chason Boseman; and by an extended family that she treasured.
We are thankful you could join our family at this celebration to honor Julie B.
