Karen Lee Matson Jones Wall

Karen Lee Matson Jones Wall, 80, of Clayton, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2025 to join her Savior in Heaven. Karen was born on December 7, 1944 to the late James and Martha Matson in Columbus, Ohio. After Karen graduated from Linden-McKinley High School in 1962, she spent the majority of her career as a medical office manager. Karen was well known for her love of Jesus, family, Ohio State football, and M&M’s. She loved everyone she met, never meeting a stranger. She never complained, always saying “everything’s fine.”

In addition to her parents, Karen was preceded in death by her infant son, Robert Trent, her first husband, Phillip Jones, and her second husband, Harold Wall. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Angie, daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Jim, grandchildren Freeman, Haley, Ava (Travis), Matson (Katelyn), twin sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and Todd, brother and sister-in-law Gregg and Joanne, extended loving family of 5 nieces and nephews, and 13 great nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at McLaurin Funeral Home on Saturday, October 25, 2025. Visitation will be at 10:00am and service at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Karen’s church, Hocutt Baptist Church, Clayton NC.
