Kathleen Hyler Gillie

Kathleen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. To many, she was another grandmother, known simply as “Nanny”. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, visiting the mountains, serving others, and watching any sporting event she could find. Kathleen was a long-time member of West Calvary Free Will Baptist Church where she served faithfully in the children's ministry. Kathleen also had a heart for people and regularly mailed greeting cards for life events to members of the church.

Katheen is survived by her husband, Frank, of more than 70 years. She is also survived by three of their children and their families: Cathy (Bill), Judy, and Rob, grandchildren Megan (Sean) and Chase (Faith), Michael, and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Richard Wayne Gillie.

She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Services will be held on Sunday, September 24, 2023, at 2:30, at West Calvary Free Will Baptist Church in Smithfield, North Carolina.
