I’ve been thinking for the last few days what to say about Ms. Kathi. Words just don’t feel like enough to describe someone who was an amazing colleague, truth teller, secret holder and friend. I worked with Kathi for over five years and in that time, we grew to be friends, shared chats over morning coffee, proof read each other’s work and ultimately shared our lives with each other. She gave me confidence in myself, helped me to believe in my chosen career path and was a shoulder to share my woes. Her presence and spirit will be truly missed.

I am so shocked and saddened by hearing of Kathi’s passing. She worked at NC State and our paths continued to cross in the communications world there. She was sweet, helpful, dependable and had a great, friendly disposition. Prayers and comfort for her family! We will miss her!

Kathi was a very generous person, always welcoming and the thing I will miss the most is her laughter and we had some good ones over the years. Rest in peace!

Kathi was a gracious colleague, a thoughtful human being and a gentle soul. Her light has left us too soon and will be greatly missed.

I am thankful for the opportunity I had to get to know Kathi just a little better as we prepared and traveled to Rwanda. Her joy was evident at every moment! I lift all who loved her in prayer as we process her physical transition.

I always looked forward to chatting with Kathi every day at NC State. For several months we were usually the first two in the office, and more often than not we ended our conversations laughing about something, which was a great way to start each workday. She was so smart, kind, funny, and thoughtful, and she always gave excellent advice and guidance. I'm so sad and sorry, and I'll be thinking of her and her family.

I worked with Kathi for the last three years at NC State. She is a very caring and funny person. Our office spaces were next to each other so we always chit chatted. I still remembered her saying before the pandemic started that she was so excited for her international trip to Rwanda, and her sharing all the stories and experiences for that trip through Zoom.
My deepest sympathy to the family. Wishing you peace in heaven Kathi! I will cherish our loving memories.

I am heartbroken. I am also so very glad she came with us on our last trip to Rwanda before the pandemic. She enjoyed herself so much, and we enjoyed her. She was a very special person. My condolences to you all.
I have several photos I would be happy to share.
