CLAYTON – Kathryn Sanko Owens, age 86, passed away on Thursday, March 11, 2021 at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at Amelia Church, of which she was a member, with Pastor Brandon Patterson officiating. The family will receive friends at the church immediately following the memorial service. Inurnment will be held privately at Pinecrest Memorial Park.
Mrs. Owens was born on September 19, 1934 in Ford City, PA to the late George Sanko and the late Katherine Brandstetter Sanko. She was a retired Nurse Practitioner and enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, and making flower arrangements.
She graduated from Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing in Pittsburgh, PA in 1955. She later returned to school and became a Nurse Practitioner. Kathryn was a clinical director at Planned Parenthood.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Clark McGee Owens; and their son, Thomas James Owens.
She is survived by her children, Amy Paben (Neil), David Owens (Lori), and Elizabeth (Joseph); 16 grandchildren, Alexander, Andrew, Brian, Danielle, Emily, Lindsey, and Reilly; great grandchildren, William, Eleanor, Maximus, Amelia and Hailey, daughter-in-law, Sandy, her children and grandchildren.
