

Larry was born in Clayton, North Carolina, to the late Garland McCoy Crowder and Julia Pilkington Crowder. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ray Crowder, and his sisters, Judy Crowder, Margaret Ward, Betty Pollard, Eva Ennis, Laura Sealey, and Joyce Lamm.
He is also survived by loving sisters, Johnnie (Don)Brown, Connie Jones, Billie(RD)Radford, Carol(Bones)Barefoot.
His greatest joy in life was spending time with family and friends. He attended school in Clayton, North Carolina, and later retired from Greyhound as a bus driver, where he often entertained passengers by singing his favorite songs.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Kim Crowder; his son, Sawyer Crowder; and his daughter, Erica Crowder Banks (Phil Banks). He is also survived by his granddaughter, Summer Banks, and great-grandchildren Cali, Coy, and Camden. Grandson’s Brooks (Becky) Banks and Keston Banks.
Larry is lovingly remembered by his stepchildren: Ashley Lambdin (Dave) Brown and their children, Robert and James. Nathan Lambdin (Sophia Woo) and their son, Isaac. Cody Lambdin (Traci) and their children, Cadence, Archer, and Juna.
Larry loved getting out and riding anywhere, anytime. He cherished seeing his children come home, talking with his sisters and brother, visiting with neighbors, and welcoming Joe and David to work alongside him. Most of all, he truly loved big family gatherings—because his family meant everything to him.
He was a wonderful husband, a devoted father, and a man who will be deeply missed. We will forever cherish the life we shared with you. We love and miss you always. Your devoted family.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, from 2:00 until 4:00pm at McLaurin Funeral Home, Clayton.
