Rest in peace, Lee. The pain you must have felt and been going through is gone. Many are thinking of you and your family during this time.

It's still hard for me to believe you are gone and I will never see you or get a surprise phone call from you. Today we had a memorial service for you and you would be honored to know that Uncle Lloyd did the Serman. You would also be so humbled that all that showed up. I love you so much and I will see you again one day in heaven. I know you are there because God knew you had a sickness that got larger than you. He knew your heart and that you didn't want to live like that. My heart is so broken 💔. I love you Lee. You would be very proud of your family.

Not knowing is difficult, but let me focus on what is known. When we were growing up, you were fiercely loyal. You were passionate and strong willed. Sometimes too much so. You loved hunting and all things outdoors. Many have witnessed and benefited from your encouragement and compassion, including me. If there was ever anything I needed I could have called you. You called even more people friend than those that befriended you and in the early days of your life you had a ton of friends. Your smile was wide, your encouragement strong, your loyalty was unwavering. What was yours, you shared without hesitation. From elementary school to college, we were friends. We may have lost touch after I moved away, but you are forever in my heart as a friend. You have my promise to focus on everything positive you gave and in your name, spread it as far and wide as I can. Steven H. Barbee
