With her family at her side, Letitia Hagwood passed away on Friday, January 9, 2026. She was born on May 28, 1952 in Colorado Springs, Colorado to Leon Marsh and Shirley Griffin, who both preceded her in death.
She attended Enloe High School in Raleigh and upon graduation, she worked for over 20 years with Alcatel as a line supervisor. During the past few years, she had been enjoying retirement. Some of her favorite pastimes were gardening, shopping with friends, and watching hummingbirds.
Mrs. Hagwood is survived by her husband of 60 years, Jimmy Garvis Hagwood of Clayton; son Jimmie Lee Hagwood and wife Annet of Surf City; daughter Adrian Anne Panter of Smithfield and Tonya Lyn Hagwood of Smithfield; grandchildren Chloe Lexie Panter and Meghan Pruitt. She is also survived by her sisters, Dehbra Jordan of Knightdale, and Charlene Hobbs of Anaheim, California, Sisters in Christ, Nancy Pate of Angier and Janie Bennett of Garner.
Funeral service for Mrs. Hagwood will be at McLaurin Funeral Home Chapel, 12830 Clayton Blvd, Clayton on Thursday at 2:00pm.
