Linda Woodard Watkins passed on July 23, 2026, at the age of 80. Linda was born in Johnston County on November 11, 1945, to the late Albert and Leona Peedin Woodard. Linda was a longtime member of Mid-Way Baptist Church in Raleigh where she served with the children's ministries for many years. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Joe Watkins and several brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her two sisters, Billie Staford and Nora Lee Woodard; and a brother, James Woodard.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at 10:30am in the chapel of McLaurin Funeral Home with the family receiving friends one hour prior to the service from 9:30 until 10:30. The committal service will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Clayton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Linda's name may be made to Mid-Way Baptist Church Missions 6910 Fayetteville Rd. Raleigh, NC 27603.
