Lisa Ellen Willis

Lisa Ellen Rarick Willis, 73, of Clayton, North Carolina, died at the SECU Hospice House of Smithfield after declining health on Sunday November 9, 2025. Lisa peacefully entered her Heavenly home with her husband Steve by her side.

A time of gathering to celebrate Lisa's life will be held from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday, November 14, 2025 at McLaurin Funeral Home in Clayton, North Carolina.

Born in Newton, New Jersey, Lisa was the daughter of James and Betty Rarick. She grew up in Stanhope, New Jersey and graduated from Netcong High School in 1970. Lisa worked in both banking and insurance for many years. She was married to her first husband, Dennis Cater for 22 years. In 2018 Lisa married Steve Willis. Together they enjoyed trips to the beach, and just being together. Steve was a devoted husband and lovingly cared for Lisa through her many health struggles.

Lisa was preceded in death by her parents, James and Betty Rarick, and by her late husband Dennis Cater.

She is survived by her husband of 7 years, Steve Willis, by her brother Bradley Rarick and his wife Myong, of Henderson, NV, her nephew James "Jimmy" Rarick and his wife Nicole, and their son Lincoln Rarick of San Diego, CA.

Lisa enjoyed time reading, gardening, and the love of her pets. She spent time helping in food kitchens and was a very generous woman. Lisa was a wonderful cook and enjoyed making Thanksgiving dinner. We share fond remembrances of her cooking. Lisa had a love of baking and continued the family tradition of making the most beautiful and delicious Christmas cookies. She was loved by Steve's adult children, their children and the rest of the family.

The family would like to thank all those who lifted Lisa up in prayer. A special thank you to neighbor Tereca Batts for the many meals provided and for all the ways you helped Lisa and Steve.
