Marcus "Mark" Aaron, 62 of Clayton, North Carolina, went home to be with our Lord on Sunday, August 17, 2025. Mark was born on November 3, 1962, in Wilmington, North Carolina to the late James Earl Aaron, and the late Sarah Blackburn Aaron, both of Garner, North Carolina.
Mark was a 1981 graduate of Garner Sr. High School. Mark took great pride in his work as a residential builder. He was a longtime builder in the Wake and Johnston County areas. Mark never knew a stranger and would often open dialogue with a joke. He could make you laugh even on your worst days. Mark was known for his larger-than-life personality and his deep devotion to his family and friends. A self-made man with a humble upbringing, he took great pride in his work. He was a very skilled woodworker with an eye for detail, always creating something for his home, family, or friends.
Mark loved fixing cars and building projects with his sons, and hunting for treasures at yard sales with his daughter. He loved the art of the deal" and he was good at it. Mark's favorite saying was "Cause I'm the dad!" Mark's joy was found in bringing people together. He loved spending time with his sisters, whom he loved very much. When he was not able to visit, he would chat with them on the phone for hours.
Affectionately known as "Uncle Mark " to his nieces and nephews, Mark cherished time with his extended family and close friends-especially at the racetrack or around the grill. A natural storyteller, Mark had a love for connecting with others and a passion for sharing his knowledge and experience. He approached life with confidence and a creativity that inspired everyone he met.
Mark and Tanya's love story began on the Beltline, where he famously sped up to catch her attention-rolling down the window to ask for her name and phone number while driving down the highway. They married on May 9, 1998 in Gatlinburg, Tennessee and built a life filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. They loved hosting large cookouts and family holiday parties at their home. Mark loved being outside and taking trips to the NC mountains with his family.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, August 23, 2025, in the chapel of McLaurin Funeral Home, 12830 Clayton Boulevard, Clayton, North Carolina with Pastor David Sutphin officiating. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at the funeral home, prior to the service.
