Born in Trenton, New Jersey, Mary Grace married William Eickhoff, and together they made their home in Delaware Water Gap, Pennsylvania. She worked as a histologist and retired from Easton Hospital. After William's passing in 2005, she moved to Garner, North Carolina, to be close to her son and grandchildren, trading Pocono winters for Carolina sunshine without missing a beat.
Mary Grace was an avid sports fan in the truest sense. Football, baseball, basketball, golf: if there was a game on, she was watching it, and she could talk stats and strategy with anyone who dared to sit down beside her. Her heart, though, belonged to the Philadelphia Eagles and Phil Mickelson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Stephen and Florence Stewart; her husband, William Eickhoff; her brother, Stephen Stewart Jr.; and her sister, Frances Weble.
She is survived by her son, Jeffrey Eickhoff, and his wife, Tammy; her stepdaughter, Hattie (Sue) Tribe, and her husband, David, of Clifton Township, PA; her grandchildren, Casey Eickhoff of Smithfield, NC, and Bailey Eickhoff of Raleigh, NC; her step-grandchildren, Brandon Pettigrew (Brittany) of Wilson, NC, Corey Pettigrew of Redmond, WA, Jacob Tribe (Paula) of Olyphant, PA, Dawn Perez of Victor, ID, Heather Edwards (Michael) of Wilkes-Barre, PA, Noah Tribe of Clifton Township, PA, Rachel McHale (Philip) of Lehighton, PA, and John Tribe of Frackville, PA; 17 step-great-grandchildren; and her sister, Irene Prettyman of Trenton, NJ.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. on the rooftop at Kingswood Reserve, 263 McKenzie Ridge Dr., Clayton, NC.
