Melvin "Rusty" Davis Hutchings Jr.

Melvin Davis Hutchings Jr., (Rusty) son of the late Melvin and Isabella Hutchings, passed away Saturday April 28th, at the age of 74. Rusty was born and raised in Massachusetts relocating to North Carolina in 1985.

He served our country in both the Air Force and Army National Guard. He made friends wherever he went during his careers as a school bus driver and delivery driver. He enjoyed golfing, bowling and playing games on his play station. He was a good man who will be deeply missed.

A Funeral Service will be held in the McLaurin Funeral Home Chapel, 12830 US 70 Business Highway West, Clayton, NC 27520, on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at 2pm. Interment will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 1, 2018 from 6:30-8:30pm at McLaurin Funeral Home.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Karen Hutchings, Children; Dana Sapic and husband Ken of Clayton NC, Derek Hutchings and wife Rebecca of Methuen, MA, Jeffrey Hutchings and wife Tara of Hampstead, NH, and Daughter in law Jennifer Sharrock of Manchester, NH, Grandchildren; Cameron and Jake Hutchings, Katie, Skylar and Gavin Hunt, Siblings; Raymond Hutchings of Powder Springs, GA and Gayle Allen and husband Tim of Salem, MA. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his son, Terry Hunt.
