Michael “Smiley” Barbour, son of the late Melvin and Annie Barbour, passed away on Sunday, August 16, at his home in Archer Lodge at the age of 66. “Smiley" was born in Johnston County on September 12, 1953 and graduated from Clayton High School in 1972. He was employed by Champion Products for 23 years and worked in his welding business until his recent illness.
Surviving are his wife of 37 years, Jane L. Barbour and his son, Michael Jared Barbour. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his brother, Danny Barbour and a sister, Sue Lee.
A graveside service for family and friends will be held on Thursday, August 20, 2020 at 11:00am at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Clayton.
